For families with children, school is one of the main criteria when choosing housing in Pattaya. Almost all international schools are in East Pattaya, near Mabprachan Lake and the Siam Country Club golf course, so the area to live in and the school are chosen together.

Which district to choose for a school
- Mabprachan Lake and Siam Country Club: Huay Yai, Pong - Rugby School, Highgate, Regents. Villas and houses in estates with plots, quiet.
- Nong Prue: Nong Prue - Tara Pattana, Phoenix Wittaya, MIS. Family estates, 15-25 minutes to the city.
- Huay Yai: the French school and villa estates.
- North Pattaya: ISC Pattaya - for those who choose an apartment not far from the sea.
- Na Jomtien and Bang Saray: quiet family areas farther from the schools; you need a car or a school bus.
What a family should look at
- The road at rush hour. Twenty kilometres on the map can be forty minutes. Count the time, not the kilometres.
- The school bus. Many schools run routes: check whether the route passes through your estate.
- House or apartment. East Pattaya is mostly villas and townhouses, while by the sea it is apartments. With school-age children people more often choose a house.
- The curriculum. British suits UK universities, IB suits international universities, American suits the US. The choice of curriculum matters more than prestige.
- Length of stay. If you are in Pattaya for a couple of years, choose a rental near the school.
